You Spin Me Right Round, Baby

I’m not really one for New Year’s resolutions because I never follow through on them. Mostly I just find reasons to do the opposite of anything I resolve to do. So in that spirit, I resolve to do nothing.

In the meantime, look what I did this weekend!

I spun up 4 oz of superwash merino/tencel blend from Spinning Bunny. The colorway is Oriental Poppies. I got home Friday night and it just sat there and called to me. It wasn’t so much a siren’s song as it was a constant, insistant drumming. I spun and then plied it all Friday night. I didn’t go to bed until it was all done. Which was about 3 am. But damn, it was worth it.

I navajo plyed it and ended up with 168 yards. Which is less than what I was wanting to get out of it. I was hoping to get enough yardage to make a proper pair of socks. I guess I’ll just have to knit something else.

My life sucks.

In the meantime, I’m going to have to get a pair of these to show off my handknit socks better. Why don’t I already own a pair? WHY?
