Why You Should Never Get Your Oil Changed

I love my car. Sure, she’s 10 years old (which is like 70 in dog years), but she’s boxy. She gets me to and from work, around town, and from point A to point B and back on the occasional road trip. She’s a classy dame, to boot.

Anyway, here’s where it all went wrong. A couple of weeks ago, I took her to get an oil change before heading to Georgia to go see Niki. Since then, a few things have happened to make me think that getting an oil change was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made with my car.

  1. Two days after I got an oil change the driver’s side headlight went out.
  2. A few days ago, the back passenger side tire was low on air.
  3. Today, my back passenger window wouldn’t roll up.
  4. When I took the car to my dad’s to see if he could fix the window problem, the hood wouldn’t pop open because apparently the lever mechanism is broken.

All these things lead me to believe that I should never have had the oil changed because I had NONE of these problems prior to the oil change. And if you don’t believe me, then you just don’t know my car.

Also, it turns out that the problem with the window? It can be fixed by rolling it up using the button on the door of the back passenger…door. According to my dad, the reason the main button doesn’t work is probably related to the driver’s side headlight being out. You know what? He might be right. (And you wonder where the crazy comes from.)

Dude…oil changes are overrated anyway. It’s a government conspiracy simply created to drive the consumer like cattle to the same industry every 3500 miles.

    Horrible, horrible capitalists…..

Honestly it seems like you have an electrical issue if your window is somehow linked to the headlight going out…..that sucks cause it can be expensive to fix.

This made me laugh out loud…I just said to a coworker “I need to get my oil changed today at lunch.” Not even 5 minutes before I read this….now I’m scared.

Did you take it to a Jiffy Lube type place? You gotta watch those dudes. If they’re paying more attention to your boobies than to what they’re doing under the hood (of your car), they can do some serious damage. Sorry for your car drama, sister. Need me to kick some Jiffy Lube ass for you? I got your back.

I have a friend who went to some quickie lube place and they put oil in his brake fluid. They ended up paying for his brake hydraulic system to be replaced. I’m pretty sure they weren’t looking at his boobies.
