We’re Fascists Now…..Ciao

This weekend was fairly subdued. I think maybe the wildest thing about this weekend was my haircolor.

It’s definitely much more red than the first time we dyed it. Check out this side by side comparison:

The first dye job was done August 5th. The second was done September 16th.

I know I keep talking about it, but I am really really REALLY happy with my hair color. (Oh yeah, B, Little Man wanted to know if he could dye his hair orange. I told him he’d have to ask you. I tried to talk him into blue, but he insisted on orange.)

Also? Have I mentioned that B can grill like no one else? I mean, his is so good at the grilling, it’ll make you want to slap your mama. Or your grandma. Or both. That. Good. Um, we might have eaten quite a bit of steak this weekend. Oh, and grilled corn. There really is no other way to eat corn other than grilled. Yum.

On the knitting front, I didn’t knit a single stitch this weekend, though I did weave in the ends of the latest scarf and block it last night. Little man asked me again when I was going to make him a scarf. Every scarf he’s seen me knit, he wants one just like it. I have a feeling that it won’t matter what the scarf looks like as long as he gets one. But, he still has to wait until Christmas. My wrist is definitely feeling better, but I don’t want to rush back into knitting and anger my wrist. That’s no fun.

I did read the new fall Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits magazines Saturday, too. There are quite a few patterns that I really like and that I’m interested in making. I might get around to some of them one day.

Four things currently interest me, but are not on my needles:

  1. B’s socks
  2. One more scarf for Zan (needing some inspiration on this one)
  3. Mariah
  4. Something that is true lace with laceweight yarn. I’m thinking maybe the Swallowtail Shawl from Interweave Knits, Fall 2006 (scroll down). I’d like to do something that isn’t a scarf, but also isn’t a huge shawl. I think this fits the bill nicely. Plus, I just like it.

I also really like the Gatsby Girl Pullover from Interweave Knits, Fall 2006. I also still haven’t made Little Man’s tiki doll. I need to chart out a tiki mask/face. So much to do, wrist still a little dodgy, girl a little batty from lack of knitting.
