Weekend Roundup

Sometimes life has a way of getting in the way of best laid plans and that seemed to be happening to B and me a lot lately. Luckily for us, this past weekend turned out to be a much needed retreat for the both of us to spend time together. The fates even saw to it because I was supposed to work this weekend and that never came to be, which was AWESOME.

Friday night after BAD Boy’s soccer game, we headed out to hear a couple of bands play and ended up staying out late, hanging out with old friends, making new friends and having a grand ol’ time.

Saturday afternoon I was supposed to go in to work and it went like this:

One hour before I’m supposed to go in:

BOSS: [calls on phone] Hey, I’m stuck in a case, can you come in a half hour later? Two o’clock?

Me: Sure.

1:50 p.m. I’m walking up to the office and my phone rings.

BOSS: I’m really sorry, but it took longer than I thought and I’ve got another case that got added on and…

Me: Let’s just try again tomorrow.

BOSS: Ok, great. One o’clock?

Me: Sure.

And then I went shopping. I know, how awful, right? My life sucks.

Saturday night, B and I went on a date. I even fixed my hair into an updo. We went to The Grill and ate phenomenal food, had great conversation and an excellent view. Then we went home and watched Balls of Fury. Correction. We went home and I watched Balls of Fury while B passed out on the couch.

The next day, I got a call from my boss around 11 telling me to not come in so we pretty much had a lazy Sunday until I finally decided to do some laundry. My girl Celeste came over and we did some seriously needed catching up and then I watched Stardust before going to bed.

I worked on B’s socks a little, but didn’t really do any serious knitting. Still, it was just one of those great, low key weekends. Also, we decided that for our 5th wedding anniversary, we’re going to Vegas. Now, I just need to convince B that the 2nd anniversary is the Lendrum anniversary.
