Dscf1183Look at this gorgeous-ness. Lipstick red suri merino yarn. Yumyumyum. I have 7 delicious balls of this yarn to go with the dark grey I already had to make Mariah. This, apparently, was the inspiration I was lacking. I’ve been ho-hum about my knitting lately. I mean, I love the fact that I have something on the needles, but I’m ready for something really challenging and creatively inspiring. I think this will be it. It’s been awhile since I’ve been angry at my knitting and cussed at it and fought with it and I kinda miss that. It’s like knitting and I have become an old married couple lately and we’re just not really into that. I mean, sure, the security is nice, but the passion has been missing. I think the passion is about to heat up soon. I might even keep two projects on the needles at the same time. Maybe three. We’ll see.

I’m almost finished with the Auburn sock (2 more inches and the baby’s done). I have an idea for another scarf that I want to get on the needles soon. It involves getting rid of using up left over yarn from other projects – if I have enough *snort*. And then there is the matter of B’s sock(s). While the sock that I finished fits, it’s not as tight a fit as B prefers. I prefer to think as the first sock as a sock-shaped gauge swatch. Work with me here, ok? I’m trying to keep morale high. I measured both of B’s feet for instep circumference and ankle circumference. Now I just need to measure the gauge on the sock-shaped swatch and do a little maths. *Le Sigh* Maths. I hate you.

Anyway, I got a little crazy with the yarn and the picture taking and, well, just see for yourself.

  • You know…I’m kind of jealous that you are able to wear stuff that’s been knit with that beautiful yarn…..my skin is too sensitive and I would be itchy in just about everything…..that sucks….

    hmmm…
