My dog is like any typical dog in that he will eat most anything you offer him. However, there are some things he won’t eat/drink and I find this a little perplexing.
Things Bear WILL eat/drink:
- whipped cream
- indian food
- thai food
- chicken
- beef
- coffee
- mashed potatoes and gravy
- corn
- bacon
- cereal/milk
- Purina? Dog Chow? Healthy Morsels?
- Pupperoni
- Milk bone biscuits (to name a few things)
Things Bear will NOT eat/drink:
- gourmet dog treats
- any other dog treat not listed above (unless it is crunchy and not gourmet)
- liver
- BEER
WTF? Seriously, my dog will not drink beer. Not even beer with bits of pupperoni* floating around in it. Gross, I know, but he’s a dog. What does he care? Apparently, a lot.
This dog will stare at the door for long periods of time. Up close and personal. But will not drink beer. I don’t get it. Are these two things related? Possbly.
*Pupperoni is my favorite way to entice Bear to do things he normally would not do. Like get in the bathtub. It rarely ever works, but I continue to attempt bribery with pupperoni anyway. Stubborn? I think not.
knitting update:
And for the record, I have been knitting. Sleeve number two has been vexing me. I got through 7 increase repeats (increase every 6 stitches) only to notice that I had dropped a stitch roughly, oh, I don’t know, 12 or more back. DAMNIT. Ripping mohair back? Will make you want to rip your hair out. I had a scary moment where the mohair hair (haha) was tangled up and caught together on a stitch and I thought the yarn was going to break, but I finally got the damn thing untangled. Sigh. Now I have to figure out just where the hell I am in the repeats and increases and all that. Good thing I’m knitting at Paige’s tonight.
boys update:
I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen in six months or so yesterday while walking the non-beer-drinking dog. He lives not too far from me, and occasionally I walk by his house, but I rarely ever see him. Especially of late. Anyhoo, in the course of our conversation he:
- Asked me for my number.
- Repeatedly made reference to needing to get together and go have a drink. (This included telling me stop by for a drink)
- Asked if I already had plans for tonight.
Number 3 kinda caught me off guard. When I told him I had plans, he then went on to tell me he was going to be out of town Fri and Satur so that wouldn’t work. Then proceeded to tell me he would call me next week and we’d get together.
Kinda pushy, don’t you think? Not that I won’t go, mind you. He likes Rojo. So do I. Excellent margaritas at Rojo. See where this is going? Why would I pass up the opportunity to drink margaritas with a friend? At Rojo? I might be crazy, but I’m not stupid. Also, he is a friend. Probably a better reason to go than the margaritas. Maybe. I’ll keep you posted.
