Today marks the day where my receipt is now void and I can’t take B back to the husband store. Which is ok, because I really like him. We’re slowly rewriting the anniversary gifts for each year as we reach them. For instance:
First Anniversary
Traditional: Paper
Modern: Clock
Chez Pants: PS3
Second Anniversary
Traditional: Cotton
Modern: China
Chez Pants: Sporting Goods
This year B got me a target, shooting glove, and new (to me) bow (as soon as it gets here. I love you ebay!). And in return, I finally legally changed my name. I think that’s a fair exchange, don’t you?

If they ever come up with PS3 Archery, we’ll be set!
You did?!?!?! Awesome!
Sharon changed her name the old-fashioned way, at the wedding. Than two days later (on our Hawaiian honeymoon) she was addressed as Mrs Collier and thought the person was referring to my mom, and this made he wonder how or why my mom was there on our honeymoon. And then it dawned on her – SHE was Mrs Collier.
@Bob – Well, I changed my name when we got married on our wedding day, but my work and also the government doesn’t seem to care unless I change my social security card to reflect my married name. So apparently changing your social security card is what *really* makes it legal.
Congratulations! My name change is finally just now legal, too.
