The Medusa Maya

Dscf0465Last night my friend Lauren sang at Safari Cup, a local coffee shop in downtown Birmingham. She is an amazing singer and we were sufficiently wowed by her singing. I had a great time seeing people I hadn’t seen in ages and was thoroughly amused by my friend Arlene. In fact, Arlene caught me so off guard with a comment that I actually had to get up and walk away from where I was sitting (right in front of Lauren) to regain my composure, I was laughing so hard. But Lauren is an amazing singer. She has a gorgeous sultry voice that makes you want to throw your panties at her. OK, maybe not, but she makes me think of lounge singers of the 30s and 40s. Or is it the 20s? Anyway, you get the idea.

I did find some lovely yarn to start on the Trellis Scarf. I started it on some metal needles, because I got a little lazy and didn’t want to dig for my Denise Interchangeables (Which I just now remembered exactly where they are. IN PLAIN SIGHT. Whatever.), but I’m going to have to switch to the Denises because the metal needles are way too slippery for the yarn. Oh, and the yarn? It’s yarn that I got from my SP5. I’ll take a picture of it tonight. It’s some delicious kid mohair in this fabulous colorway of well, all the colors, really. Also, I was maybe still a little tipsy and so very tired (damn allergies!) last night so I maybe read the chart wrong, added an extra stitch in the repeat and had to rip it all out. I’m not too upset about it considering I was only on row 3, but I’m hoping to have better luck tonight. After I pack the kitchen.
