That Time of Year

I swear, as soon as daylight savings ends, I go into hibernation mode. I’ve been going to bed around 9pm every night. It used to be closer to 11pm before I’d fall into bed. Here lately, though, I’m ready to hit the sack as soon as it’s dark. Maybe I’m part bear. Whatever.

Today is a gorgeous day, it’s not raining, but it is cold. Still, I couldn’t resist driving with my windows down on my lunch break. I’m something of a lead foot, also. I have the speeding tickets to prove it. Anyway, today, instead of getting a speeding ticket, I ended up meeting a guy and giving him my number. Pretty cool. Better than giving my number to a drunk guy at some club at 2:30 in the morning. Moving on…

I won passes to see a sneak preview of Blade: Trinity. I’m excited about that. I’m taking my best guy friend to see it with me. That’s tomorrow night, so yipee! I also picked my some rings from my jeweler that he’s had for close to six months now. Unfortunately, one of them was my wedding band (it had needed some repairs). I really don’t want to keep it. I’m thinking about putting on e-bay or something.

I did quite a bit of knitting over the Thanksgiving weekend. I finished my dad’s Santa hat. All but weaving in the loose ends, anyway. I need to finish that. I also started and got half way through my mom’s scarf. I’m not sure I like it yet. Does that sound familiar? I’m going to finish it, block it and then make my decision. I don’t know how well it will block since the yarn is 60% silk, but we’ll see. I also started on my first pair of socks. I haven’t done much, but I’m excited to see how they turn out. I got some self-patterning sock yarn and I have no idea what the pattern will look like. I believe it’s stripes.

Oh, and I start my new job Monday. I cannot wait!
