As of today, I’ve been spewing my “verbal” diahrrea onto the internets for three whole years and I’m amazed by two things.
- I’ve managed to keep this up for so long; and
- People read this.
Anyway. Here’s to another year of spewing every odd thought that comes out of my head. Cheers! *clink*
And here’s a little something as to the whole purpose of me starting this little ole’ blog.

I finished the adult sized jester hat just in time for DP’s birthday.
He was thrilled, loved it and has sworn to wear his new hat for the rest of the winter. And judging from the weather we’ve had so far, I imagine the cold weather will be over by the end of the week. Next week if we’re lucky.
I thought it was somewhat fitting that I finished his hat while we were at the Circus this weekend. Which, by the way? The Circus is cool.
When I was a little kid, my parents took my sister and me to the circus somewhere in Europe. It might have been Hungary, but I’m not sure. It was the best circus I had ever been to. Acrobatics, clowns that weren’t scary, show dogs, some dude spinning 20 plates at once, stuff like that. I LOVED it.
Somewhere inbetween 94 and 96 I went to see Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey’s Circus in Columbia, SC. I HATED it. Saturday we went to see the Circus and it rocked. It reminded me so much of that beloved European circus I saw as a child. Except with elephants and horses and tigers, oh my!
I have friends and know of others who don’t like the circus because of the animals that are in it, but you know what? Every single one of those animals looked to be in great health and well-treated. They did amazing things and were a treat to watch.
I was ready to join the circus after watching the show. Which, when you think about it, really kind of makes sense.
