Allow me to introduce Sir Charles Poopy Pants the First. Or, as we like to call him, Charlie.
Technically, he is the family dog. In reality, he has claimed me as his own. Whether I like it or not. Which, for the most part I do, except for when he cries FOR HOURS when he gets put in his crate because I want to go to bed. The getting woken up in the middle of the night because of the howling? OHMYGODMAKEITSTOP!!! That is not so much fun.
Good thing he is so cute.
The boy was a little overwhelmed when he saw Charlie. He’s was pretty much so happy he was speechless. I don’t think he could really believe what he was seeing since he’s been asking for a dog for YEARS.
I really want to bring him with me to SAFF and sneak him in. I don’t think anyone would notice him, but he needs to bond with the other boys in the house and not be such a momma’s boy. Plus, I have a feeling he would eat my roving/yarn.
As for Chloe?
She thinks we’ve brought her home a moving toy. She pretends she doesn’t like him, but I think she gets her feelings hurt if he stops chasing her when she’s not done playing. And he came from a home that had cats, so he was excited and happy to see a cat when he came to our home. I think it’s just a matter of time before they’re snuggling up to each other and Chloe is grooming him.
Chloe is blurry because she was trying to bat at him.
And yes, we moved the food and water bowls to the kitchen. These pictures are from Friday night when he first came home and hadn’t eaten yet. Now he runs with his goofy puppy gait to the kitchen and eats in there. Being sure to knock plenty of food onto the floor and then eating off the floor. Because that is SO much more fun that eating out of the bowl. DUH.
He and Sugar Ray are currently blissfully unaware of each other. I think we’ll keep it that way for just a little longer.

My advice for the midnight howlings????? Put him in bed with you……he’ll settle down just like a baby and go right to sleep. Just put him right between you so he won’t fall off the bed and once he feels your warmth he will go right back to sleep.
We crate trained Max and still let him sleep with us when he would wake up in the middle of the night. Eventually he will grow out of it and sleep through the night in his crate….despite the dog trainer telling us this was “confusing” and “bad”….it worked out just fine!!!
