(Step) Mother’s Day

I got exactly what I asked for, which in itself is also a present. It’s nice to know my boys can follow directions.?

B took BAD Boy to a local florist and let BAD Boy hand pick me a bouquet of flowers.?There is nothing quite like letting a kid run wild with his imagination in a flower shop. I absolutely love the combination of colors and flowers I ended up with. They picked the vase up at Target. I forsee more flowers going in that vase even if it’s because I pick up a bouquet at Publix.?

This is the second time I can remember receiving flowers from someone I love. (The first flowers I ever received were a box of long stem red roses from an ex-boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. He was dating a good friend of mine at the time as well. I hate roses. And creepy ex-boyfriends.) The only other time I ever received flowers (that were appreciated) was when my brother sent me flowers when I graduated from high school.?

In keeping with the flower motif, this was the beautiful card BAD Boy made for me at school.

And then there was the crazy random happenstance of inheriting a new-to-us sofa that occurred this weekend.

We’re still reorganizing our living room/dining room combo, but the new sofa is so very welcome after having an incredibly fugly(but much appreciated at the time) purple plaid sofa with coordinating dark purple arm chairs. We’d been discussing IKEA furniture options to replace the fugly furniture when B’s stepmom informed us that they were getting a new couch and would we like their old one. The response was a resounding, “HELL YES.” And so now we have a new sofa. The living room is a much happier room now.
