Somebody Give Me A Cookie

I finished Scott’s hat.

Finishedhat_2 Sorry about the glare in the corner. It’s the best I can do at the moment. Deal. How awesome is this thing? It took me 5 days to knit it up. Um, it started out as a scarf, but now it’s hat. How? MAGIC. Really. I know I’m progressing as a knitter since I knit this in five days (working on it an average of 2 or 3 hours each day), on size 5 needles, I did the math all by myself for the decreases and didn’t fuck it up (MAJOR accomplishment, by the way. I think this calls for two cookies.) and I even went so far as to seam up the top using the Kitchener stitch. Nothing but the best for Scott.

Closeupdesign Close up shot of the design. No matter how hard I try, the camel color gets washed out to look like white. It’s darker than that in person. This is my most favorite design that Scott has come up with to date. He is a master designer. I mean it. I mean, I would never think of this kind of stuff, but he does and makes it look so easy when he’s doing it. You know I watch him draw these things and stare at him with utter fascination. How does he do it? Magic, I’m sure.

Kitchenerstitch

Super crappy picture of the Kitchener stitch, but you can see it and that’s what is most important. I like the way this looks better than pulling the yarn through the live stitches and pulling it tight. There’s always a little tiny hole at the top that drives me batty. I think I might do this on all my hats now.
