So, I’ve started on my first pair of socks. I’ve just finished the cuff of my first sock during lunch today. I think I’m making socks that might fit a small child. I’m using size 2 needles. I’m thinking maybe I should have gone with size 3 needles. The cuff is a k1, p1 rib stitch, so it’s going to stretch, but I’m just not sure about the fit. SnB is this Thursday, so I’ll be able to pick up some larger needles if I need to. Anyway, other than the size of the sock issue, I’m really liking it. Plus, it’s so easy to carry! Now I understand what other knitbloggers are talking about when they say it’s great to tote around when knitting on the go!
I gave my parents their Christmas presents on Sunday. The reason for that is my mom left for Korea today to go see my Grandfather and she won’t be back until after Christmas. So, my mom got her scarf and my dad got his hat. I need to call him and find out if he wore it to work yet or not. It hasn’t been cold enough, really. Anyway, my dad loved his hat. My mom, well, let’s just say she liked the yarn I used. I made her a decorative, short scarf. It’s for looks, not for warmth. It took some explaining for her to understand. I’m still not sure if she likes it or not. She loves the yarn. She should – it’s a silk/angora blend and feels like heaven. Oh well, I should have expected a response like that from my mom. My dad more than makes up for it, so it’s all good in the end. ![]()
