You know, I have good friends. Well meaning friends. Who don’t knit. Which is how I end up with things like this:
And I really appreciate the thought that went behind this. My friend Keith G knows that I knit, but apparently has no idea that there is a difference between knit and crochet. Though, I have to say, upon seeing this, I am a little tempted to learn to crochet. Even if it is … acrylic.

You know what? I’m starting to think that socks are dangerous.
I mean, I worked on Sock #2 last night after Scott and I ran. I worked on it for several hours. I thought that we had an understanding, the sock and I. But apparently, the sock and I are on different wavelengths. Apparently, I did not spend enough time with the sock last night and it was very angry about this. Which would explain why it attacked me this morning after I got out of the shower.
Ungrateful sock! But at least you can see for yourself that I have, in fact, turned the heel.
I’m ready for these socks to be done because I am jonesing to start a new project.
I am definitely going to make Tubey, but I also want to try my hand at lace. I’ve talked about this before. At great length. Boring clowns to tears. True story.
Anyway, I think I will end up eating my words from the other day about not having multiple projects on the needles and probably end up starting both, but focusing more on the lace project. Mostly because lace requires more concentration. (But it will still make me a little crazy having multiple projects going at the same time. It makes me itchy. Seriously.)
I am also going to attempt to be reasonable about knitting lace, I’m going to knit Branching Out because I don’t think knitting a swatch really counts as knitting lace, so a beginner pattern seems like a good idea.
And to this end, I have already laid out the necessary items to start on Branching Out. Some people lay out clothes the night before to wear the next day. I lay out knitting. I found a ball of kid silk haze in white in the stash to knit this baby. I have my size 8 circs and my pattern and I am ready to go.
As soon as I finish the sock. I’d rather not have a repeat of this morning’s incident.

Woah. I don’t expect my knitblogs to be work-unsafe.
I don’t crochet, either, and I have no intentions of picking it up…but those dinosaurs are pretty cute….
Learn to crochet, the dinos are stinkin’ cute…but are they big enough to cover your nipples? –cel
That is one vicious sock.
Oh My God those are beautiful socks you have there. Very nicely formed.
