You have been warned. I might have gone a little crazy with the alpaca, but can you blame me? It’s like buttah…..
There was a sale going on as well. I did buy a few things on sale:
And here it is all together in all its glory. I give to you unadulterated YARN:
1. Plymouth Yarn 100% Baby Alpaca in black
2. Plymouth Yarn 100% Baby Alpaca in white
I’m planning on making a scarf with the black and white baby alpaca yarn. In the round. With one of Scott’s designs. Is there any way to make the ends look good WITHOUT using fringe?
3. Plymouth Yarn Suri Alpaca in grey. It’s an alpaca/merino blen. I got 12 balls to make myself a sweater. Yes, yes, I know I swore off sweaters. That is exactly why I bought enough yarn to make another one. There is plenty of logic to that statement if you look at it upside down or inside out. Trust me.
4. 100% Merino hand dyed yarn by Cinnamon’s Dye Pot. I don’t have any plans for this yarn yet.
5. Luxury mohair (blend). As if there’s any other kind of mohair. Honestly. I think I have enough for a small shawl. Oh, or the opera scarf AND a small shawl. I’m still trying to decide.
I’m not sure if you noticed the trend with my latest purchase of yarn. The alapaca, the merino, the black and white. The only thing that looks a little out of place is the purple merino, but its saving grace is that it is merino. Also, the mohair would be out of place except it’s black, white and grey.
Oh, and I have been doing a little knitting. The second sock is almost done. Amazingly, when you are trapped on planes all day long, the second sock does not seem like such a horrible thing. Not once did I think, "I hate you, second suck!" Also, the fact that I didn’t take any other knitting projects with me and that I didn’t buy any knitting needles while I was in the little yarn shop in San Diego might have something to do with the incredible progress of the second sock. I’m at the toe decreases and will finish it soon. Maybe even this weekend. I was going to work on it last night, but forgot it at work, so I worked on a swatch instead. Another one of Scott’s fabulous designs.
He also drew a few more designs for me last night. I think this will either be the longest swatch ever, or possibly a belt, but only if it doesn’t look dorky, and if I can find a clasping mechanism that I really like, and it doesn’t look dorky. More than likely, it will become a really long swatch and not a belt. Oh, or maybe a guitar strap. No, scratch that. I don’t think this yarn could hold up a guitar…or a bass. Maybe it could cover a guitar/bass strap. I don’t know. It’s just that it feels so good. Literally. I’m using Karabella Breeze (cashmere/silk blend) and some unknown green yarn that might be Debbie Bliss Cotton Cashmere. I’m not sure, but that’s probably what it is. I have to stop every so often and just pet the yarn. It’s that silky soft. Is it unnatural to be in love with yarn? I think not.

Um… I read about the yarn porn, where was the ess-eeh-ecks. Or was that the part where you were petting the yarn. (. )( .)
I have that special feeling now.
