Seriously, These Hats Need Names

Hat2_2 The really great thing about Scott’s designs is that you can look at it a million different ways and see something different each time. I know I say this all the time, but he really is genius. An ingenious genius. And the designs keep getting better and better. Not that any of his designs suck, because they don’t. They just keep evolving and growing and are becoming more intricate and involved. Scottinthehat_1

And not only is he willingly enabling my knitting addiction. He poses for me in the hats. He’s such a good sport about it, too. Not to mention, a really good looking model. Oh, right. We’re looking at the hat here. It fits pretty well, but it is a bit snug. Though, the more I put it on, the more it stretches out, so I think it’ll be fine. Just incredibly warm. I mean, we’re talking 3 strands of bulky weight wool/mohair blend. W-A-R-M.

Scottinthehat2_3 You see the look on his face? It says, "When can I get this thing off my head? It’s fucking hot!" It needs to be a little colder so that maybe these hats I’m making can be wearable and you won’t sweat your head a size smaller. That would be good. I mean, it’s OCTOBER and it’s still in the MID 80s during the day. What is that all about?

So I made this promise to myself that I would work on the Hoodie Sweater after this hat was finished. But….well, see…..there’s this design that Scott reworked and made bigger….and well…..there’s this yarn I have that would look really great as a hat with that design….or really bad….I won’t know until I see them together, but I have this sneaking suspicion that it will be funky great. I really think I can have the hat done by the end of the night. Tonight. That way I have all day Saturday and Sunday to finish the sweater. Or at least, finish knitting the sweater. We’ll see about seaming the thing together. Though the sooner it’s finished, the sooner I get to wear it…..if it ever gets cold enough.
