Second Time’s A Charm

I decided to rip the sock and start over with Monkey. I’m liking this much better. I like the yarn better, too. And the pattern is so much fun! In the words of Little Man, “It’s SO addicting!”

I worked on this yesterday on the ride to and from Tuscaloosa. We spent the day with B’s family on the lake. It was great fun and no one got sunburned. I’d call that a success.

We also tested out the portability of the spinning wheel. Which is, in fact, quite portable. She fit quite nicely in the trunk space of B’s SUV and stayed in place with the cargo net around her. And I spun quite a bit while we were there. Of course, I took this picture after we got home.

Think I might be able to fit just under an ounce of roving on that bobbin? I’m hoping so. The more orange looking yarn is the Targhee Top. Out of all the samples I got, this is the only one where the colorway has some orange in it. I have loved spinning every single fiber sample from Spinning Bunny. Her roving is absolutely delicious. And you need to go check her out right now because she has Harry Potter House Colors fiber sets! How fun is that! I might need one or two or all of those sets.

And lastly, I leave you with this picture. I took this Friday evening while waiting on B and LM in the Target parking lot. We stopped by after going bowling. (I bowled a 138 first game. We won’t talk about the second game.) I didn’t feel like going in since B was just going to get one thing. I wouldn’t have gotten this shot if I had gone in the store and our lives would be so much poorer for it.

  • I love that sock pattern! The sock patterns on Knitty are always great! I can’t wait to see how yours knits out.

    Again, beautiful spinning!

  • MUCH better! I didn’t want to say it, but I didn’t really care for the moss stitch in this yarn. When are you going to try the magic loop? It’s SO fast!
