To blog or not to blog seems to be a recurrent theme among some of my bloggy friends. Or more accurately, remembering that there is a blog on which to blog. A lot of us have become enamored with Twitter because it is easy and easily accessible. And in it’s own way, can be considered microblogging. Plus a lot of the time you get immediate feedback. Who doesn’t love immediate feedback?
But then you suddenly you find yourself trying to figure out how to squash something monumental into 140 characters. And while I will readily admit that that in itself is an art, sometimes it’s just not enough. Sometimes elaboration is necessary and good. Somtimes more than 140 characters is necessary.
But after awhile, 140 becomes standard. The norm. And the thought of elaborating suddenly becomes exhausting and impossible. And you wonder how people have the time to blog in more than 140 characters. Blog? What’s that? Do people even do that anymore? But there’s nothing like an update on your platform to get you tinkering around with your once beloved but suddenly found on the wayside blog.
So once you start tinkering around and updating things, you start to remember how fun it was and all the good times you had together. And you think, “Remember that one time…?” And then before you know it, you’re writing in more than 140 characters at a time. And it’s like feeding a part of your brain that’s been starving.
And before you know it, the creative juices start trickling in and before long, (hopefully) those juices start to flow freely and more regularly. And maybe, just maybe, you start blogging more often. And with the passion, wild abandon and love you once had for it.

Any post with a dog in it is good enough for me.
Hah. I was counting there, to see if you had managed to say each statement in 140-character blurbs punctuated by cute Charlie photos. Because that would have been extra funny.
