Remember When

I am one of those freaks who doesn’t like to do memes when everyone else is doing them. I like to do them when no one is doing them.

I’m like that with most everything. When I was in college, I got my belly button pierced. It was something that I had wanted for a long time. Just for me. I kept it for several years. But, when I started seeing tons of other girls with belly button rings EVERYWHERE, I decided it was time to take it out. It just didn’t seem special anymore. Plus there was that whole "fear of association by belly button piercing" thing that I had. I am not a sorority type girl, and they were the ones flashing their piercings from here to kingdom come and I just didn’t want to be associated with them. I also never wore belly shirts to show off my piercing. It was something I did strictly for myself.

I have one because I wanted one. It’s for me, not for others. I don’t show it off on purpose. It was almost a spiritual experience for me to get it. It’s on my back in a place that is easily concealed (this is good for work). There are days when I want another one and there are days when I’m glad I only have the one. Oh, and it’s a dragon, because I have been fascinated with dragons since I was a little girl. Maybe, if you’re good, I’ll show it to you one day. Maybe.

Anyway, the point of all this rambling is that I want to show you where the knitting happens in my home. (Remember that meme?)

This is where the magic happens. And the cursing. And a LOT of cussing. And the frogging. And sometimes, knitting. (By the way, I cleaned up the table at little for this picture. Sad, huh?)

Oh, but I do want to join one bandwagon, I think. The Self Portrait Tuesday thing. Except today is Wednesday, but whatever. Of course, it probably won’t be a regular thing, so we’ll just wing it and see how it goes.

Geez, how many times can I say "thing" in one post? Anyway, this picture is all about the good hair day I’m having today. So of course you can’t really see my hair in this picture. You’ll just have to take my word for it.
