Real Knitting

I worked on K’s tube top sweater last night. I briefly considered posting a picture of it, but really, it looks pretty much the same as it does in the WIP album so just look at that pic and imagine that it’s a wee bit longer.

BriocheI’ve also been working on the brioch scarf. I suppose I could post a picture of that. It’s coming along nicely, I think. The contrasting color is more purple, not brown, but again, y’all know that I’m challenged when it comes to taking pictures. Just know that it’s really purple and fuzzy, but not as fuzzy as the picture is fuzzy. Got it? Good. I wish I had more done, but I don’t knit very fast with sz 5 needles. I also screwed up a little on it and ended up ripping back a few rows yesterday, but it wasn’t as big of an ordeal as I thought it was going to be so that was good. All in all, I’m pleased with it.

Oh, and I got the Summer IK issue in the mail this past weekend. I’ve finally taken the plunge and subscribed to IK and Vogue Knitting. I love them.

Lily_yarnAnyway, in the Sum IK, I have decided that I want to make the padded footlets – because they’re not technically socks, so I shouldn’t get as bored with them. Right? Right. I think the Noro Lily yarn I got back in February will do nicely for these footlets. They will be the most decadent not socks EVER. And I will finish them. BOTH. As soon as I get started, er, after I finish the evil lurker sock who threatens Bear with curtains. Really.

And I want to make the Lacy Leaf Pullover (excerpt from Loop-d-Loop book). Because it looks cool and I want it. That will be my next sweater project AFTER I finish K’s tube top sweater and Hoodie. Of course, I’ll need to get my SnB book back before I can work on Hoodie again. I’m at the neck shaping in the front and it’s not really like I can "wing it."

Proof that Bear is alive and well. Or, as I like to call it: Bear in natural habitat. OR King surveys kingdom. Whatever. That’s my dog. And not just any dog, but the BEST DOG IN THE WORLD dog.

You should check out Jessica’s (Rose-Kim Knits) sweater; she’s almost done, actually. Just having some issues with kitchenering the top and bottom together.

  • I need to subscribe to those too. It’s too big a hassle to have to go out and buy them every time they come out. Of course it’s a good excuse to make a trip to the lys. The footlets are cute, they’re on my list :)
