- I am currently obsessed with the Southern Vampire Series by Charlain Harris. I would like a vampire of my own. But I definitely wouldn?t sneer at a shapeshifter or a Were.
- I have once again developed knitting ennui with all my projects. I?m working on B?s socks, but I am fairly certain they are going to be too big. I guess they?ll just be house socks for B. I also think my ennui has a lot to do with a great longing I have to buy enough yarn to start another sweater that in order to abandon it for a newer, smaller project. Buying yarn is not an option right now. Especially since I probably have enough roving to spin up for a sweater. But that does not suit my purpose. OK, fine it doesn?t suit my lack of patience to cast on for a sweater that I?m itching knit only to abandon shortly thereafter.
- If we based what our hobbies were not on what we loved doing, but rather what we did the most, then laundry would be my hobby instead of the bane of my existence.
- Why is it that the older kids get, the less they listen to you instead of more? Have you not proven your point over and over again that you know what you?re talking about? (I hope to god my mother NEVER reads that.)
- I am also currently obsessed with finding the perfect family vacation getaway. Why is it when you can finally afford a really nice vacation, you are hampered by school calendars and other such nuisances? And all the vacations you can REALLY afford are out of your reach because of said calendars? I personally think it’s a marketing scam.
- I should really be working on my mom’s scarf. I haven’t touched it since…I can’t remember when. That’s probably not a good thing. Especially since I have just over a month to finish it. I should probably get right on that.
*le sigh*

Clearly the world is against you.
When my girls were in elementary school, I should have taken them out of school for a vacation. Only at that age is it feasible – once they are in high school, the make up for missing a week is impossible.
I say screw school and take a vacation anyway. You get, what? 5 unexcused days? He’s gonna remember that vacation more than he will whatever crap they teach him that week anyway!!! DO IT!!!!
My family pulls all the kids out of school almost every year to go skiing and it hasn’t killed any of them yet.
My folks pulled me out of school to go on vacation all the time in elementary and middle school and I turned out just fine. Yeah, really, I did!
Unfortunately, it’s ME that can’t get out of school.
I’ll go on vacation with you.
