Rambling Around

♦ I just came across this story in my google reader. How cool is that? And also, how hot was that dress?

♦ Tropical Storm Claudette apparently travels with an entourage, but sends her entourage ahead – which results in this.

♦ I’ve joined a co-ed softball team and our first game is this Tuesday. Actually first 2 games since it’s a double header. Unless Claudette rains it out. It’s been 11 years since I’ve played softball, but turns out it’s like riding a bike – once you’ve done it, you can pick it back up relatively easily. I’m looking forward to playing again. We’ve got a good team put together, too.

♦ My new to me bow is awesome. So are the new arrows I got this weekend. There really is something to be said for proper equipment. However, there is something else to be said when a certain someone shoots her arrows underneath a certain shed. Twice. A million in one shot and I make it twice. Earth worms, fear me!

♦ BAD Boy has started FOURTH GRADE. I’m still coming to grips with this. Though admittedly not very well. Yet. He’s getting so big! My t-shirt and athletic shorts wearing boy has now informed us that he wants to wear polo shirts. I would be more worried if he insisted on ONLY khaki shorts, but he’s got broader tastes than that. So far. His new favorite colors are red (for Alabama [football]) and pink. He has no idea why, but pink is now his second favorite color. It cracks me up since not even a year ago he was poo-pooing the fact that B ordered a Flamingo Pink Dell laptop. Was horrified by it, actually. And begged me to tell him that it was all a big joke. Though, once the laptop got here, he was all right with it and even liked it. So, I guess this is one of those like father, like son things?

♦ Last night Chloe freaked me out a little by meowing very strangely. It was in a much lower octave than her normal complainy voice. I rushed over to where she was to see what was wrong with her only to find that she was bringing me a dead camel cricket. Gross! I told her thanks, but that was gross. I think she ate it since I didn’t want it.

♦ B and I are still South Beaching it. So far I’ve lost 30 pounds. Slow and steady. I’m really happy with my progress and I am so impressed with B. He had his annual check up a few weeks back and all his cholesterol stuff came back well in the normal ranges. It wasn’t last time, so this is a big relief and a reason to do the happy dance.

♦ I have the best husband in the world. We went out on a date for our 2nd wedding anniversary and had a great time. GI Joe turned out to be a pretty decent movie and an awesome action flick.
