Queen of Slackage

I wish I could take this title, but the truth is, I am more likely to take the title of Queen of Lack of Time. But I think most of us hold that title, don’t we?

The pictures of the CPH will be on hold indefinitely until I find the free time (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA s,.zlkg,.agwioejkrafs;dojdc … Sorry, I fell out of my chair from laughing at the thought that I might actually find some free time. Ahem.) But I can tell you this. I was so proud of myself for not making any discernable royal fuck ups on this sweater. Then I realized the other night that not only had I purled where I should have knitted in the ribbing in one spot on the sleeve I started on the way back from Vegas, but I also forgot to change needles after finishing the ribbed cuff. Luckily, I was only into the second repeat of the cable pattern, but still.

Damn.

Remind me not to get smug about my knitting.

I ripped back and changed the needle size and started knitting the pattern again but didn’t get very far. (Read: less than 1/2 way through the first cable pattern repeat.) That was 2 nights ago. I just realized this morning that I forgot to fix that one stitch that is out of line in the ribbing. Guess what I’m doing tonight?

*sigh*

Sometimes I wish I wasn’t a perfectionist.

  • At least you noticed the mistakes BEFORE you bound off!! I am just so impressed and in awe of you sweater knitters!!!!! Maybe one of these days…………..

  • You, the queen of slackage? I haven’t even posted on my blog in over a week–and that’s because I haven’t taken any pictures of the stuff I wanted to post about. (Though, for the record, I’ve been busy ripping a repeat of Icarus. It is HARD to put in a lifeline after-the-fact. I think my lifeline covered about 6 rows altogether.)

  • “Slackage” is now my new favorite word.

(I’ve been saying “gusto” in every sentence for the last two weeks. But “gusto” is so two weeks ago. “Slackage” is where it’s at!)

  • Just drop it down and fix it. Can you do that, or would it be too difficult with the cable pattern?

  • Bob

At least you weren’t knitting a bodice. Then you would be a bodice ripper. That would be different, to say the least, not that there is anything wrong with that.

  • I did the same stupid effing thing. I cast the fronts on THREE times without switching to the smaller needles to do so. /facepalm
