Or what I like to call "Thursday Night".
Actually, quite a few things happened last night, none of them knitting related.
First, I ran my personal best to date last night: 12 min 30 sec. I was stoked! Excited! Very pleased with myself, to say the least. Until now, the best I’ve run has been 11 minutes. I finally feel like I’m making some progress! Yippee! You should know this about me: I am NOT a distance runner, I am a sprinter. I think I ran somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 miles, but I’m not sure. I know it wasn’t quite 2 miles. I’m not training for a marathon or anything, I’m just trying to stay in shape and be a better runner. I think I’m achieving that and I’m quite pleased with myself.
Second, I got to hang out with some new people last night and it was good. I don’t have all that many friends my age that live in the great state of Alabama. Let me clarify. I don’t have many girl friends my age who live in Alabama. I’m not sure how this came about, but it did. I think some of it had to do with mostly having guy friends. And that the few girl friends I do have my age are married and starting to have kids. So, it’s not that they’re not my friends, they just have different priorities and live kinda far away and I don’t see them very often. Wow, this is not supposed to sound like "feel sorry for me!" I’m just trying to share a little. I promise, my life is not sad! I have friends! They’re just mostly older than me. That’s all I’m saying. Promise. Anyway, it was so very cool to hang out with chicks in my age group and have a good time. Lots of fun. THAT is what I’m trying to say.
Third, my fun time kinda ran over into my "pick up Scott from class" time and I was late. I am rarely ever late and felt kinda schmucky about that. Luckily, Scott is always late and he wasn’t mad.
Fourth, I got to hang out with my friend Keith G, who is a hoot. It was a good time. [He was at Dama's too. We rode together.]
It was a pretty great night. That’s all I got.

Congratulations on the run!
I, too, tend to have mostly male friends, and I am the ONLY girl in my circle of friends who isn’t married. *sigh* As you said, it’s not like they got married and we couldn’t be friends any more, it’s just…different. I guess that’s one of the things I like about knitblogs…single, married, kids, or no kids, I feel like I finally have a bunch of girlfriends!
Way to go with the running! I love to run – it is so fulfilling! Have you ever read aboutJeff Galloway’s training method? It’s run/walk. Anyway, I use it whenever I want to increase the length of my runs and I really love it. It is so easy.
Keep it going!
