There may have been a few things I forgot to mention yesterday about the weekend.
- I had a date Friday night who graciously let me drag him to the Garage, to the Synarts thing AND to the karaoke bar. And he still called me back…though, I don’t think he’ll ever say, "I’m at your mercy" ever again to me (I drove since he didn’t have his car with him). Also, best line of the night award goes to my date who said, "I don’t karaoke on the first date. I have standards."
- I ran into Scott at the Synarts thing and we chatted for a bit. I think it’ll be soon that we can hang out as friends and that makes me happy, because he’s a cool guy and I like his company.
- There was a girl at the Synarts thing that apparently took a shine to me last weekend, but saw me with my date and gave him the look of death and then did not speak to me. That was…..odd.
- My sister and her companion spent part of the weekend with me. They too were dragged to the karaoke bar. But honestly, it was so much fun, nobody complained.
- I went and saw AND spoke to my mother on mother’s day. It almost went off without a hitch. I mentioned something to her about having exercise induced asthma and she went off on how I shouldn’t run anymore because I might develop tremors from using an inhaler, therefore running is bad for me. If I had been quicker on my feet, I would have said, "Eh, I’ll probably develop tremors from the alcohol before I develop tremors from the inhaler." Oh well, I’ll save that for another time. I’m sure it’ll come up again.
And now for something completely unrelated. This was a conversation my sister and I had some months back and it’s still funny to me:
Naomi: I have dry skin.
Grace: I have dry skin only in winter.
Naomi: I have dry skin in life.
Grace: What is life?
Naomi: Why you gotta be all existential and shit?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I was unaware that karaoke was a verb, but then I remembered that I don’t speak Japanese so I’m somewhat less surprised.
two things……YOU HAD A DATE??? That’s news that is EASILY trumped by…you SPOKE TO YOUR MOM!!??!?!?!?!?!?!
I’m going to try and call you tonight while I’m packing my crap.
love you!!!
