Perhaps Going a Little Overboard

I might be doing that with this starting a new project every other day. Today, I have a good reason for starting a new project. Turns out we’re having a baby shower Monday for a lady at work. She’s an amazing woman. It’s not her baby, but it’s one of her family member’s baby and she’s going to raise it instead of her family member. And, the baby is a preemie. So we’re doing a suprise shower for her on Monday at lunch. Hence the decision to make a baby blanket. I’ve got some solid pink and variegated pink acrylic baby weight yarn in the bottom of my stash basket that’s been begging to be made into something. Now I know it’s been asking to be made into a blanket. I couldn’t understand what it was saying down there since it was kinda muffled by all the other yarn. Plus (ssshhhhh) it’s not highly regarded by the snobby wool yarn. I guess that’s why it got pushed down to the bottom of the basket. Well, I will be rescuing it tonight and knitting away. Something simple and easy and can be done this weekend. Of course, the weekend always starts on Thursday night. Didn’t you know that? I thought about booties or a hat, but decided that a blanket would be best because babies take longer to grow out of blankets…. or if you’re like my little sister, years… anyway, I’m thinking of doing stripes with the two yarns. We’ll see how that goes. I think the yarn is either Lion Brand Baby Soft or Bernat Softee Baby. I just remember buying it at *gasp* Wal-Mart. In my defense, that was back before there was a local yarn shop. The closest yarn shop was two hours away back then! The horror to think of it! Ok, the plan: go home, walk dogs, KNIT!
