Packing It In

October promises to be a crazy busy exciting month. At least, that’s what the brochure says. B has a birthday next week. So does my best friend’s son.  He’s turning 1. I haven’t knit him anything yet because I am a terrible person. Let me rephrase that. I haven’t knit him anything yet for his birthday because I’m a terrible person. He’s gotten 2 hats from me. He may have to get something non-knitted from me this year because my wrist is still a little wonky. (I did go to the chiropractor yesterday and I’m feeling like a new person today, but I’m not gonna push it.)

Anyway, after that, there’s my 10 year high school reunion. It was originally looking like there was going to be a puny turnout, but now it’s looking like quite a few member of my class will be there and it should be lots of fun. I’m really looking forward to it.

There’s also a business trip to San Antonio in October and as far as I can tell, there’s only one yarn shop in all of San Antonio. Is that true? Is that right? Only one? If that’s the case, well, poor San Antonio.

Then, the thing that I am so very excited about is SAFF. I’m taking the Spindling course with Elizabeth and Ginny. We’re also going to be camping! Yay! I don’t think I’ve ever camped in the US so this will be a new experience for me. All my camping growing up was done either in the desert or on the beach. With large bonfires. I don’t think you’re allowed to have large bonfires on campgrounds in the US. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Anyway, this will be my first fiber festival ever. I. am. excited. I’ve been instructed not to come home with any sheep. Boo. I’d bring home a rabbit, but I think my cat might scare it to death trying to play with it. And I know better than to bring home a goat. I don’t remember anythying being said about alpaca, though. I wonder how big a baby alpaca is….
