Now with Less DOOM

You know, there really is something to be said about having the right tools to do a job. And do it well. And with feeling. For instance, the chevron scarf that I’ve been working on for my mom’s Christmas Birthday present. The Koigu is lovely to knit with, but the needles I was using were crap. Well, they weren’t always crap, but they are now. I was using Denise Interchangeables and back when I was a newbie, they were great. I thought they were the most fantastic needles on the planet. I swore by those needles and also may have foolishly made some proclamation about never ever knitting with anything else. And then I conceded that I would only knit with Denise Interchangeables and bamboo needles. But I would NEVER knit with metal needles. No way. Not me. You have got to be crazy!

Well. I might have spoken a little too hastily. Because lately my great love has been for metal needles. I really REALLY want this set of interchangeables. But I digress.

ANYWAY, last night I went to knit night and bought a new pair of needles. And I swapped out needles in the middle of a project. I know this is not the smartest idea on the planet, but I took my needle sizer with me and they’re? anear perfect match and I am happier and this stupid damn chevron scarf is now much less DOOM-y and more enjoyable to knit. Though I will still be so very happy when it is done and over.

  • I have to say, I love my KP set. I still use my clover bamboo straights and circs for some things, but most often I use the other.

  • I’m a metal only needle user. No wood or plastic coated needles here! ON top of that I solely use circular needles, so I might be a leetle biased when I say: KP interchangeables are totally worth scavenging up the funds for even if it means not eating for a month. no kidding.
