Sunday I hosted the Spin-In and I don’t have a single picture to prove it. But I had a blast and loved having everyone over! We had a great time. You can see pictures here and here.
Quote for the day: “I like them, but that doesn’t mean I want to milk them!”
Which would be ME, talking about boobs, yet again. Well, technically, we were talking about milking cows at that point, but I have no idea how we got on the subject. And of course, this was after I admitted to having a boob fetish, but when you have big boobs, it’s kind of hard not to think about them because THEY ARE ALWAYS IN THE WAY.
*ahem*
Anyway. How about a roll call, hmmm?

Me
At one point, there was discussion about fiber of the month clubs and which one everyone was in and which one they liked best, yadda yadda yadda. I think I might be the only spinner who?isn’t in a fiber of the month club. When I mentioned that I wanted to join one, but hadn’t because I felt guilty about my stash (which lives in the den where we were spinning), Carrie looked at it and said, “Is that all of your stash?” And I nodded my head in shame. She looked at me with pity? and said, “Oh honey, that’s nothing. I have a whole basement dedicated to fiber.” (I’m paraphrasing because my mind blanked at the thought of how much fiber she had. Totally unable to comprehend.) Which got me to thinking that maybe I do need to join a club.
I was really thrilled to have everyone over to the house, even though it meant cleaning like a madwoman for most of the weekend. It was worth it and I had a blast! I was really excited that my new friend Keri was able to make it. She brought her boy child over and he and the Boy kept themselves entertained for hours by playing nearly every two player PS2 game we own. B stayed out of our way and got caught up on his homework (he’s working on his MBA) and everyone was happy.
Wendy and Tonni brought food and wine. Delish. Wendy’s almond torte cake thing was FABULOUS. And Wendy is such a sweetheart, she also brought me a knitting calendar, with a project a day. The Boy informed me that I was WAY behind in my knitting projects because I have until midnight every night to finish the project of the day. He’s either delusional or thinks I can knit WAY faster than I can. I tried to explain to him that that would only happen if I didn’t work and all I did was knit all day long and did nothing else. Even then, I wouldn’t be able to finish some of those projects. He didn’t buy it.
Carrie brought me some yummy roving to spin as a thank you. It smells like cinnamon. Or bubble gum. Just depends on who you ask. I think it might be next in the que.
Thanks ladies for making my day fantastic yesterday! I can’t wait for the spinning pajama party at Jessi‘s!
After everyone left, I cleaned up a little and then finished spinning up the corriedale roving I dyed with Elizabeth way back when. I did my best to split it evenly with my handy dandy little food-now-fiber scale and almost managed to spin two even bobbins. I had a little bit more yarn on the first bobbin than on the second, but I was pleased with how close I got. Anyway, I plied the two bobbins together and came out with 330 yds of …. more laceweight. And I didn’t take pictures of that either. Well, that’s not true, I took one picture, and it was crap. So I’m not showing it to?you. You’ll just have to wait until?I can get a picture that is NOT crap.

Thanks again for putting up with all of us! As usual, I had a blast!
I had a wonderful time! Stacey doesn’t have a blog (yet) – we talked about this on the way home. Can’t wait until the Spinning Revivalists get together at Jessi’s!
Ok, now your email the other day makes sense……the comment about your shopping super powers was actually from Melinda. I was wondering what the hell you were talking about……anyhoo……..I think my B would faint if I actually bought something for under $30. I am already working on another Coach bag for my bday. Maybe they make knitting needles, too……..I will let you know if so…..
Later!
Mel
It’s amazing the conversations that take place when a bunch of fiber freaks get together, with my group here we seem to really cover the gamut with the different subjects. I want to be there for pj day – that sounds like a blast.
I’ve not joined a fiber club yet myself. It’s such a hard decision on exactly which one to join – there are really so many of them out there now. Decisions, decisions. I wish I had the budget to join them all.
Had a great time! Thanks for having all of us over and I am looking forward to next time.
Sounds like everyone had a GREAT time!!!! I can’t wait till the next spin in!!!
Don’t feel alone, I don’t belong to a fiber club either!!!

I hate I missed this. Sounds like ya’ll had a great time. Remind me when I see you next to tell you a story about boobs.
