Ok, so I went by Wal-Mart and bought some cotton baby yarn and started knitting the baby booties for my work request last night. The yarn was so cute in the skein, but on the needle . . . I don’t think I like it so much. Cotton is not as forgiving. I bought 4 skeins and took back 3 since I’m still working on the baby booties with the other. I’m going to go ahead and finish the pair I’ve started with the cotton. I took the 3 back this morning and exchanged them for some acrylic yarn that is much softer and more forgiving on the needles.
The cool thing, though, is that I got to use my “new” knitting needles that David’s mom got me. She bought a small bundle of assorted needles at a yard sale somewhere and I’ve got a nice pair of plastic needles that I used last night. Much more comfortable to knit with and their a shorter length, also.
So, even though I’m not happy with the cotton yarn, I’m happy that I got to knit for awhile last night. It was a nice relaxing activity that I desperately needed this week!
