I finished spinning the last of the targhee last night from the 5 fiber sampler from Spinning Bunny. It absorbed the colorway so very differently from all the other roving. The purple is black and there was an awful lot of orange that wasn’t present in any of the other roving. But the colors are vibrant and I love that.
I can’t believe I fit all 5 oz of roving onto a 4 oz bobbin. I didn’t spin all the roving quite as evenly as I would have liked, but it’s fairly consistent. So to recap, these are the different fiber samples that I spun up onto one bobbin (and in this order):
SW merino/tencel
alpaca/merino/silk
kid mohair/merino
angora/merino
targhee
My plan now is to Navajo ply this baby. It should be interesting to see how it turns out.
