Shot from 33′ away using a 25# recurve bow. First attempt.
I stole took inherited my dad’s (who is very much alive but no longer does archery) old recurve bows several months ago. Shorly after getting them, I bought new strings and 6 practice arrows and then totally chickened out. Yesterday while we were out at the farm, I finally got up the guts to just go do it. Archery. I am totally hooked. There is nothing quite so satisfying as hearing the arrow thwack! into an object. I want to do it again! RIGHT. NOW. Alas, I cannot. Yet.
I am currently trying to figure out how to create an archery range in my back yard.
However! If you have any pesky bales of hay that need putting down, I am your girl.

Ohhhhh, so THAT’S what those photos of bruises are from in your flickr feed!
Congratulations!
Skeet shooting is fun too!
I love that thwacking sound. Of course, it’s better than the sound of me yelping because I caught the inside of my arm.
A friend of mine just posted a picture on her FB feed of her result at target shooting with a rifle. There was a LARGE hole in the center of the target. You two should get together.
@Bob – Just so long as she doesn’t want to play Cowboys & Indians!
