So, I haven’t really been doing all that much knitting. I find that I tend to knit in spurts. I’ll go for days or weeks without knitting and then turn around and spend the same amount of time (or more) knitting like I’ll never get to knit again. Just a personal observation.
Anyway, onto the drama…I was going to move to Seattle. I had every intention of blowing this popsicle stand and getting the hell outta dodge. However, that has since changed. I have a possible opportunity of getting a chance at a dream job (for me) here in Birmngham, and I just don’t want to pass it up. I talked to my best friend about it (whom I was going to move in with in Seattle) and she proved how great of a friend again when she whole heartedly supported me going after my dream. She rocks. Love you, girl! Ok, so maybe the drama is all in my head, but that’s my drama.
The other thing that has been going on is the power struggle between Bear and me. We’re so much alike, it’s scary. And no, I am not brindle in color. He is certainly stubborn. We definitely have that in common. It all started when he became an avid puller doing our walks. This caused great havoc on my arms, shoulders and back. He, however, was enjoying himself thoroughly and was completely unaware of my discomfort. He did, however, occassionally become aware of my frustration.
To remedy this problem, I got him a gentle leader, which he immediately detested; hated, even. We have been fighting quite some time over the gentle leader. He didn’t want to wear, I wanted him to wear it because he had quit pulling so hard. Then, we would get into it because he would constantly attempt and sometimes be successful in getting it off.
For those of you who are not familiar with the gentle leader, it looks something like this. Anyway, I finally decided that if Bear and I were to ever get along again, change was in order. So, I got him a pinch collar, which a lot of people find cruel, I know, but Bear is loving it. He would rather wear that than the gentle leader. Go figure. However, the bottom line is, he does not pull so hard when we walk. We’re both happier and we like each other a lot better.
Bear also went to the groomer this weekend and is looking very pretty, smells good and his coat is silky soft. He’s not a huge fan of water, so I figure it’s better if someone else bathes him instead of me. ![]()
And this concludes today’s. Stay tuned for the next episode…
