Dear Grace,

Remember me? Your neglected hoodie sweater? You used to love me so much. You spent long hours knitting me up and caressing me. I’m so soft and inviting…I’ve done nothing but long for you to finish me. Why do you insist on spending time with all those short hussy projects? They can’t give you the kind of satisfaction I can. Fall is already here and winter is fast approaching. You keep saying how wonderful it would be to wear me, but do you ever spend time on my sleeve? Do you take time to make me whole? No. You run off with those hats. And there was that pair of socks before that. Oh, and the scarves before that. Should I continue?

Sure, they’re fun for a little while, but they’re over so quickly and then you’re only left wanting more. Is that any way to knit? You could spend hours with me and be left so much more satisfied. I’d be your first sweater you ever completed. You could wear me around town and it would be so much fun.

This is so distasteful that I should even suggest this, considering how often and how much you cheat on me and leave me for other projects, but if you finished knitting me and put me together, you could wear me while knitting those damn hats. Is that really too much to ask for? I’d like to think it isn’t.

Maybe, just maybe you could find some time in your oh so busy schedule of spending time knitting the hates hats this weekend and maybe finish me up. I really don’t think that’s too much to ask.

Yours truly,
Hoodie Sweater
