Dscf0959Have you ever just unexpectedly had your heart gripped by someone else? You weren’t looking for it, you didn’t even want it, but it happened anyway? And when you surrender to it, it’s the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to you? Ever have it happen to you twice in one month? It’s breathtaking.

Dscf0955_1I started on Little Man’s sock last night since he so ingeniously asked me to show him how a sock gets started. I just so happened to still have the yarn for his sock in the car, so after dinner I showed him how to cast on stitches and then started knitting in the round to show him what it would look like. He was very specific as to how this sock should look. He hasn’t seen the jolly roger yet, but I had received approval on the striping. I’m pretty sure he’ll be happy with how it’s turning out.

I know you’re not supposed to do intarsia in the round, but you know what? Rules are meant to be broken, and the sky hasn’t fallen or anything so I’m going to carry on with it. Now I just need to graph out Auburn’s logo to go on the sock as well. Stay tuned.

If someone was gripping my heart for the second time in a month I would hope it was a heart surgeon, and I’d be worried a little about that second surgery since the first one apparently didn’t really work out.
