I have had a very strong desire to knit Fetching ever since this issue of Knitty came out. I have some gorgeous Debbie Bliss Soho (featured on the top left-hand side of the blog under About) that I thought would be perfect to knit Fetching. I am so incredibly in love with this yarn and needed the Perfect Project with which to knit it. I thought for sure I had found the Perfect Project for the yarn in Fetching. I was so excited when I did a quick check to determine that, yes, Soho is in fact Aran weight. It was like I had won the lottery. So then you can imagine my crushing disappointment when in the next minute I determined that there is not enough yarn in each ball of Soho to make Fetching. It was like someone had say, "Oh sorry, your ticket is one number off. That guy over there won the lottery. Not you. My bad. Better luck next time." Bastards.

Fetching’s pattern calls for Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran.

DB Cashmerino Aran:55% Merino Wool, 33% Microfibre, 12% Cashmere;Approx. 98yd/89m per 50g ball

DB Soho: 100% Wool, Approx. 72 yds/50g, Weight: Aran

OK. I am going to look like a complete idiot right here, but the elation is back. I read the pattern wrong. For some reason, I had it in my head that it was ONE BALL PER GLOVE. Nope. ONE BALL TOTAL makes BOTH gloves if you use DB Cashmerino Aran. See:

Hi. I can’t read. Apparently. Whoops. No wait, I can read, I just have no comprehension skills.
