Toby, the Jack Russell that I took in out of the stupidity of my generous and easily manipulated by animals heart is a terrorist. I came home late from work to find utter DESTRUCTION. ![]()
The carnage was unbearable and I was unable to take pictures of it because, frankly, I didn’t want to scare anyone else! That
dog had managed to DESTROY the cord of my denise interchangeable needles that I was using to knit the Honeymoon Cami. There was yarn all over the living room and on the balcony and PIECES of the CORD all over the living room floor. (I leave the door open from the living room to the balcony so they can have fresh air.) My brother and his wife agreed to take that dog in a few weeks ago, but they are waiting until they move so they don’t have to pay $150 pet deposit to keep the dog for one month and then move. I can understand that. I really can. BUT THAT WON’T BRING BACK MY DENISE INTERCHANGEABLE CORD!
I was so upset, I was screaming incoherent obscenities at the dog (he who shall not be named). I do believe he was appropriately cowed and afraid. However, that did nothing to assuage my raging anger.
DENISE INTERCHANGEABLES, PEOPLE! They are my MOST PRIZED knitting possession!
I’m feeling a little bit better today, so long as I don’t think about it too much. I couldn’t even look to see what kind of damage had been done to the cami. Oh, and he also chewed on and slobbered all over one of the balls of yarn. I don’t think it was actually damaged, but if it is, well…….I hear Jack Russells are good eating. JUST KIDDING! sort of……*
In other news, it really was FREEZING last night. Despite this fact, I managed to stay warm. *whew*. Now, I know that anyone reading that and who is currently NORTH of ALABAMA will roll their eyes and think, “WHATEVER.” However, please keep in mind that I grew up in the Middle East. Jiddah, Saudi Arabia to be exact (see my 100 things if you don’t believe me). And you know what? IT’S VERY HOT THERE! So for me, it is a huge deal that I survived the night. ![]()
(no Jack Russells were harmed in the making of this post or the incidents leading up to this post)
(also, what is up with the CAPS and the BOLD?
