But it’s a start. I tinked all the way back to the beginning of the lace chart and I’m back to about where I was when I dropped the stitch the first time. Row 6 of 21 of the first chart.
Sigh.
I don’t know why I thought the first chart was so much shorter than it really is. Well, whatever. I’m having fun with it and I’m in no hurry. I want to do this right and well. And I’m enjoying it. Lace is fun! I don’t know what I was so scared of before.
And this yarn? It’s even prettier knitted up. It’s soft and I’m enjoying the way it feels slipping through my fingers.
Normally I would use the chart, but having only half a chart is hard for me to follow for some reason. I get confused as to where I’m supposed to be. That also makes it a little slower going. I’m used to charts and not reading the pattern. But at least I’m (hopefully!) getting it right.
I’m really hoping I get a chance to work on this some more tonight. It’s all I want to do now.

I don’t know what “tinking” but I like the way it sounds…like the sound you make by plucking the strings on a violin when you are tuning it.
oooh, tinking is not fun. it is not pleasant.
I like the yarn, what is it?
Oh my god. I used to read your blog every post when you were newly divorced, and through the friend with benefits thing and then Scott and Bear and the haircuts and all the moving and I loved every minute of it.
Then for some reason I just drifted away, and here I am back and you’re married!!!
WELL CONGRATULATIONS, I”M VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!
Now I’m going to go back and read your entire archives.
PS: the yarn is Kaalund Expressions, in the finch colourway which I believe sadly is discontinued. If you have a google and want more, email me and I’ll see if it’s cheaper from here.
