So there has been much happiness and much sadness in the past couple of days. I had my birthday on Friday. HAPPY! My friend Philip lost his mom on Friday. SAD. My friend Suzanne had her birthday yesterday. HAPPY! The viewing for Philip’s mom was yesterday. SAD. The funeral is today. SAD SAD SAD.
However, if we look at it this way, this is another example of the circular path of life and death. As one person celebrates the anniversary of her birth, another person closes the book of her life. Yin and Yang if you will. Balance. However you want to look at it.
My heart goes out to Philip and his family. I have no trite words of condolence or anything of that nature. He knows that I’m here for him if he needs me. I can be a shoulder to cry on or someone to make him laugh. I certainly can’t make it better by just saying something, but I can help him get through it by listening and just being here if he needs me. Despite my love of going on and on and on and on and on, sometimes it is better to say nothing at all. Love you, Philip!
But I don’t want to leave you with nothing but sadness, so I give you the birthday girl, Suzanne:
Happy Birthday (yesterday)!
