Interiority

Scott had his first opening as a bone fide artist last night at the Bare Hands Gallery. There is a much coveted space at the Bare Hands Gallery – it’s the water closet installation space. Yes, water closet as in bathroom.

I have not seen so much good art in one place at one time in quite awhile. And I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend. I’m saying that because his art is amazing. And I think it’s great the he doesn’t limit himself to just one medium.

Even though this next statement might cause his head to explode from ego and self-love and/or pride (though he really should be proud of himself), I am going to say it anyway.

The man is sheer fucking genius.

Now for my disclaimer. I had a little trouble holding the camera still so a few of the pictures are blurry (the last two…who knew it was so hard to photograph concrete boxes?), but overall, I think you can get see for yourself just how amazing his art is.

The mixed media paintings, the prints, the concrete boxes, and the shelves and table are all the products of Scott Looney’s brilliant mind and artistic abilities.

And in case you couldn’t tell, I am not proud of him at all. Or happy for him. Or think his art is good. Not even a little. Nope. No way.

Now go check it out for yourself and buy something.
