Oh, by the way, the sock, it did not knit curtains and give them to Bear. It did not make good on its threat. Of course, now I can’t rent it out for a modest fee and get rich on my working sock. Lousy sock. I did, however, give in and knit on it a little bit this weekend.
I also worked on K’s sweater too. I find it amusing that at the moment, K’s sweater looks an awful lot like a tube top. Three more inches to go before I’ll need to start on the sleeves. I’m going to attempt to knit them at the same time. We shall see how that goes.
I even worked on the brioche stitch scarf during lunch today. What a mighty knitter am I!
Anyway, I spent the majority of my weekend at the Crawfish Bowl Boil. I do not eat crawfish unless the meat has been removed from the body because they are disgusting looking little creatures and I prefer not to eat things that look like ALIENS.
Anyway, the whole point of going is to hear the bands and the bands were great. Where else can you go hear 5 relatively big name bands for $12 at the door and $10 in advance? And for the record let me say these things:
- Blue Merle is one of my new favorite bands of all time. They rock. They have a violin player and their bass player plays a STAND UP bass. How cool is that?
- Drivin’ and Crying’ are not my favorite band. They’re not bad, but just not really my bag. I would not have paid money just to see them.
- Hootie and the Blowfish are good live.
- Hootie and the Blowfish must NEVER EVER EVER play ‘Gin ‘n Juice’ EVER AGAIN.
- I am too old to see Seether play live EVER AGAIN.
About Seether ~ they are awesome live, no doubt about that. They can rock the house. There is NOTHING wrong with Seether except for the fact that they attract TEENAGERS. Now, not all teenagers are bad, mind you, but I have never seen so many drunk kids in one place at one time in all my life. Also, WHY DO THEY THINK IT IS COOL TO SMOKE? Gross.
When did I get so old? I’m not even 27 yet, for crying out loud! (July 15 for those of you who are curious.) Anyway, the only way I could ever see them play again is if it is at an 18 or up show, preferably 21 and over. Yeesh.
Oh yeah, and because of the GINORMOUS crowd and all the drunken revelers who were UNDERAGE (why do high school boys think its funny and/or cool to pee in public at a concert? GROSS) I didn’t get to see the Wallflowers play Saturday night because I just couldn’t take it any more. I mean PEEING IN PUBLIC IS DISGUSTING EVEN IF IT IS DARK OUTSIDE. WE STILL KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE ANNOUNCING IT TO THE WORLD.
Oh yeah, and my new favorite movie of all time this week is Napoleon Dynamite. A definite must see AND own. Watch it.

do the chickens have really large talons?
Crawfish creep me out too. They played “Gin and Juice”?? I can’t even imagine it. I love some good Hootie
