This is how I spent a good portion of my Thanksgiving holiday. Actually, not blocking it, but knitting it. I finished the sleeves and then started blocking. If I were a smart girl, I would have blocked the body while I was knitting on the sleeves. I am not that bright, apparently. I am also delusional about the size of my blocking board. I thought for sure the whole sweater would fit on there, but it doesn’t. I think this ties into that whole “block the body of the sweater while knitting the sleeves” thing, but whatever.
I am this close to having this sweater done. I started this bad boy back in August. I have every intention of finishing it before the end of the year. I think that’s reasonable. If I do finish it by then, this will be a personal best for me since the last (and only) sweater I made took me roughly 2 years to complete. Go me! I am a speed demon now! Ahem.
Originally, I was not going to do buttons. I was considering going with the belted look. However, I’ve decided to do buttons so I need to find some. Suggestions are welcome. If anyone knows where I can find some jolly roger buttons, that would be awesome. I’ve also decided not to knit the hood on this and I’m going to do a simple collar instead. I’m so wild! With the changing of the mind! I hope all my ideas works out, otherwise this will be a whole lot of knitting for something I hate.

Birmingham has crap for button selection. I don’t know if In the Making carries buttons, but Knit Nouveau doesn’t. And Hancock’s selection is about as good as WalMart’s. Maybe I should open a button store. Until then, I’d shop on-line.
