Holy Sheet, Batman! Knitting!

Dscf0631_1 That’s right, people. I thought it might be, you know, prudent to actually write a post about a little knitting that’s going on in my life right now. There were some exciting things going on at Casa de Loca last night. You know, finally unpacking the seventy million boxes of books that were stacked in my bedroom. I’m still not done because I apparently need more furniture. I find this baffling since I live in a larger apartment than the last one and I haven’t increased my book volume recently. Then again, this apartment has no built in bookcases like the last one did. Hmmmm. Think that might have something to do with it? Probably not. But whatever. There was also the washing of the dishes (I love you Mr. Dishwasher aka Juan!) and I finally got my lazy bones out the door around 7:30 last night to go run. And I present to you all the minutiae of my life because I know it helps you sleep better at night. Really. I’m certain of it. Aren’t you sleepy right now? It’s probably best if you don’t operate heavy machinery or drink extremely hot coffee when reading this in the event that you might hurt someone.

Anyway, I decided that it was high time that I finish this scarf because I want to start on the next one but I have to have some standards, so my standards, or morals if you will, dictate that I must finish one scarf before starting on another. Because, come on people, it’s a scarf, not a sweater. I think I can at least show a little fidelity in my knitting and finish a scarf. (Also, let us not speak of a certain sock that has no mate and that also needs its toe to be re-kitchnered. And re-kitchnered is too a word!)

And since I am a thorough and detail-oriented person, I have no idea what this yarn is called or who it is by, or even what the fiber content is, but I do know that I like it. And I’m pretty confident that it’s 100% wool, but don’t quote me on that. Because I’m probably wrong. Whatever. Ready for your close up? No? Too late.

Honestly, though, I really love this. I love the thick and thin aspect, the feel of the yarn and the way it knits up. I love the colors and the fact that they remind me of autumn. They make me think of the changing of the leaves (very similar, in fact, to the changing of the guards) and the smell of the earth in the fall. I’m really loving that it has a look of lace without actually being lace knitting because of the nature of the yarn and the needles that I’m using. You can’t really tell in the photos, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Take it! TAKE IT! Ahem…..sorry. I’ll take pictures that’ll show you what I’m talking about…..probably after I’ve blocked it. And this brings us to the conclusion of today’s knitting post. Thank you, and good-bye.
