Garter Stitch Is the Hardest Stitch

Apparently if you’re me, the hardest thing in the world to do is garter stitch. See?

Garter Stitch Is Hard

$#$*@)!!

Because apparently if you’re me, you don’t really realize that what you’re doing is not garter stitch, but stockinette stitch for awhile. Then when you do notice, you just start knitting proper garter stitch when you notice you’ve been doing it wrong instead of fixing it. And then you do it several more times. And always in the same place. And then you FINALLY notice FOUR ROWS LATER that you’ve completely screwed up. The biggest problem with this is that you are knitting across approximately 300 stitches. That’s right. THREE HUNDRED. And to make matters worse, you can’t even drop down and fix them probably because your brain has turned to mush over your stupidity. So you tink back hundreds of stitches. HUNDREDS.

There were a lot of swears uttered during all the tinking.

Lots. Of. Swears.

It’s all better now, but I haven’t progressed much further past this picture. Minus the stockinette. However, B and I are going on a date tomorrow. An all day date that involves roller coasters at Six Flags. There’s a really good chance that some progress will get made on the drives there and back.

And maybe this time I’ll actually pay better attention.
