Five Years

It has been five years since I debuted in cyberspace with my very first blog post. I’ve gone through a few name changes throughout the years. I started out as Knithead, then became Grace Knits and finally have settled on? Little Miss Drama Pants. I’ve also changed platforms countless times. I have blogged some really inane and boring shit and some funnier, wittier posts. I have captured snippets of? my married live, divorced life, single life and re-married life. I have learned new boundaries and which ones are appropriate to tear down. I have become more creative and adventuresome in my avocations as I have been exposed to some amazingly creative people.? I have met some amazing people both virtually and in real life thanks to this blog. It’s been an amazing ride.

How my blog came to be: I discovered knitting through my baby sister back in 2003 when she knit my parents scarves for Christmas. That same Christmas I also met another knitter and she told me to buy Stitch ‘N Bitch to teach myself to knit. Which I did. I became rather obsessed with learning how to knit, so I went to Wal-Mart (*shudder*) to buy yarn, notions and needles. I sat down with my book, needles and yarn and taught myself to knit. I knit the ugliest blue scarf ever out of muppet yarn.I was desperate to learn everything and anything I could about knitting, googled knitting and discovered the world over knitblogging. I was hooked. I didn’t know any other knitters locally and this seemed like the best way to find my tribe.

From there I moved straight into baby booties and then from there to baby hats and then a mohair sweater. All in the span of about 4 months. (*The sweater took 2 years to complete.) I discovered my love for colorwork. And toe-up socks. I finally tackled lace. I went from saying I would never learn to spin to buying a wheel and dyeing and spinning my own roving into yarn. I bought a fleece and a half. I’ve rediscovered my love for taking pictures – good and bad ones. I’ve learned how to use a sewing machine! And I am glad that I could document all these things? here and share them with you.

I’m looking forward to the five or more years to come. Cheers!
