Feets!

So I finally did some knitting on the sock. I struggled awhile with the heel because I was trying a new method. I ripped the heel back about two times, I think. If I ripped back more than that, I’ve blocked it out at this point. Anyway, I really like the way it turned out even though some of my stitches are a little loose. I also like that the colorway is knitting up differently from the last pair of socks. Check it out for yourself. The only thing that worries me a little is that the heel looks kind of like a toe, but keep in mind that these are footies I’m knitting. I love footies and ankle socks. I just do. So I figure I should knit myself socks I will actually wear. Anyway, enough chattering on, let me show you so you can see for yourself.

I think it will look more like a heel and less like a toe as I knit the body of the sock. At least, that is my hope. But I love this method for turning the heel. It’s the Priscilla Gibson-Roberts’ yarn-over method. As I understand it, I can also use this method to decrease the toe as well. At least, that’s what I’m hoping. Oh yeah, and I was kind of doing this retarded "purl through the back loop" thing and twisted a few of the stitches, but once I figured out the correct way to do it, I didn’t bother going back. So that is why some of the stitches look funny. And if you don’t see what I’m talking about, I am NOT going to point it out to you. Oh, and if you want to see the other socks I’m talking about you can see one of them here or both of them here.

P.S. Have I mentioned how much I love the macro function on my camera?
