Disturbed? Probably

Hummingbird 22 sept 05. outside the harbert center.

I saw this dead female hummingbird leaving work last Thursday. There’s a little bug behind it for scale. That was not intentional, but gives you an idea as to how small the humming bird is. I was sad to see that it was dead, but at the same time it was kind of cool to see it stationary. And in real life, not on tv.

Aprilknitting This picture turned out so grainy and bad, I decided to make it look all modern and probably kinda retarded, but whatever. What’s important here is that April is knitting. Last night April decided she wanted to learn how to knit. So, she learned the double cast on, knit and purl. ALL IN ONE NIGHT! Quick learner, that chick. Now she wants to learn crochet. Oh, and April is right handed and I am left handed, and she asked that I just teach her how to knit the way I knit, so I taught her continental knitting. She took to knitting like a pro! I am so proud of her! And, I’m kinda proud of myself that I was able to teach her and it made sense to her.

I did more knitting this past weekend than I have in quite some time. Shame on me, I know. I might have overdone it a little since my wrists are a tad bit sore today. Of course, I realized this morning that it wasn’t so much that I was knitting more, but rather that I was knitting with the metal needles. Therefore, I need more wood needles. Bamboo, rosewood, birch, ebony ~ it doesn’t matter as long as they’re not metal. I like plastic needles, but I’m a little leery of using them again ever since I snapped one. While knitting. It was a sad day for all of knitting kind. I’m thinking that I might also need another set of Denise Interchangeables. Or maybe I should just get some more cords for my Denises. Or both. Yeah, getting both seems like the more reasonable solution.
