Dear Online Diary That Is Mostly Public and Not So Much Private,

There are all these thoughts and things swirling around in my head and I want to tell you about them, but I’m not sure either of us can handle it. Lots of change and unrest. But in a good way! More like in a “the natives are restless” kind of way than the kind of unrest you see right before war. I’m not going to war. Are you, diary? I hope not.

Celeste and I decided that most of this can be attributed to the drought and to Saturn. Saturn is being a big pain in the ass. Hate you drought!

Anyway, school will be starting soon. There’s the move. We’re taking a mini-break and going to the beach in a few weeks. I should be knitting instead of doing all the spinning I’ve been doing lately so I have something to show in a month and a half when Wendy calls me about the installation. And somewhere in all of this, I think I’ve let a friend of mine convince me to run a 5k. In OCTOBER. Because I really don’t have enough going on as it is. I started training last night and let me tell you what. I am out of shape. But I guess this is one way to get back in shape. In a hurry.

It’s going to be an interesting couple of months coming up. And because I have no witty segue way, I’m just going to leave you with this lovely little horoscope my friend Jane sent me. (She’s a fellow Cancer.)

Don’t let your disdain for clich? stop you from taking heed this week when, in a world where right and wrong seem to have lost all meaning, a prostitute with a heart of gold points behind you and yells, “Look out!”

  • If you want to virtually train with other knitters, there is a ravelry group of stichers/runners. That might help you get more enthused about the training. Where’s the 5k??
