Dear Internets,

We’ve decided to recover our sofa. We’re tired of the soft doo-doo brown color with one artfully shredded armrest cover courtesy of our emo cat. (No one really understands her or her “poetry.” Especially her “poetry.”)

Emo Cat Sofa Poetry

I looked online for slip covers and/or for re-upholstery options and found them to be, what is the phrase? Oh yes, ASTRONOMICALLY EXPENSIVE. I mean, there are some really cool options out there but when it costs more to recover your sofa than it did to buy it brand new? That’s kind of, you know, missing the point. Counterproductive. See also: Stupid.

Luckily, a friend of mine has agreed to make new slip covers for us, but first B and I have to find upholstery fabric that we both like and that is also reasonably priced. And after pricing upholstery fabric, I am beginning to understand why the ones I found online are so expensive. But we are cautiously optimistic. Well, I am. Mostly because I don’t know how much fabric we’ll actually have to buy and I’m really hoping the answer is “Not a lot.”

Anyway, B and I made a trip to Hancock Fabrics over the weekend to see if we could find anything we liked. And we did. But now we have to try to decide which one we want to go with because There Can Be Only One. (Yes, I went there.) So here are the contenders:

Well, those 3 and also this one over here. That one I obviously found online and not at Hancock’s Fabric. But I am torn. TORN! Which fabric do we choose? I hate having to choose just one. And so, Dear Internets, I am asking for your opinion on which of these 4 you like the best.

And while we’re at it, if anyone wants to come over, rip up that god awful carpet and replace it with hardwoods? Not only will I’ll give you a free place to stay while you do it, I’ll probably make out with you when you’re done. Possibly even with tongue.

I’m just saying.

Love,
Miss Pants
